At the time of this writing, Marijuana is legal in 20 states, while abortion is illegal in none. What do “Pot-Heads” know about the 10th Amendment that so-called defenders of Life do not?
Unlike the history of the pro-marijuana activists, the history of the Pro-Life lobby is a sordid tale of cowardice, impotent incrementalism and treason to the Pro-Life cause.
If you have been following our ongoing exposé at all, you will know that we have been looking into the actions of the so-called "pro-life" political action committee, Idaho Chooses Life - tracing their campaign donations directly to/from Liberal RINOs in the Idaho Legislature.
Many conservatives find it difficult to believe that their donations to this organization are actually being used against them. But, as always, Campaign Cash does not lie.
We now have proof that not only does ICL actively oppose pro-life conservatives, but that ICL actually acted to advance the Planned Parenthood agenda in supporting tele-medicine prescriptions for abortion-inducing drugs.
First, a little background on Rep. Heather Scott, who features prominently in this discussion.
Rep. Heather Scott is in her third term as of this writing. Since entering the Legislature, Rep. Scott has been a tireless champion of Liberty in Boise. Her record in upholding of the Idaho GOP Platform in the 2019 session is without blemish. You can check her record on our website at: www.PlatformAdherenceCommittee.org.
She has come under numerous attacks from Leftist groups including, Conservation Voters for Idaho, who is funded by various other Leftist organizations such as the Idaho Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (IDLCC) and the Political Action Committee for Education (PACE) - an arm of the Idaho Education Association.
Rep. Heather Scott’s list of adversaries alone would distinguish her as a staunch champion of freedom. However, since we are discussing abortion specifically in this exposé, we are obligated to mention that Rep. Scott, in conjunction with Rep. John Green (another defender of Liberty,) cosponsored the Abortion Human Rights Act (AHRA) in 2019. The AHRA is a no-nonsense, 10th Amendment based solution to the abortion holocaust in Idaho. An in-depth explanation of the AHRA is beyond the scope of this exposé, however you can learn more about the AHRA here: RepHeatherScott.com.
Idaho Chooses Life (ICL) is a single-issue, pro-life lobby group claiming to be the premier voice for the unborn in Idaho. In past articles, we have demonstrated ICL’s support for liberal/Establishment politicians such as RINOs Tom Loertscher and Sen. Fred Martin. What may come as a shock to conservatives is that in 2017, ICL stood shoulder to shoulder with Planned Parenthood to pass a pro-abortion bill: H0250.
On Page 3 of the bill, lines 46 and 47 are struck through, indicating that these two lines were to be deleted from the statute. Lines 46 & 47 of the statute prohibited any drugs that cause abortions to be prescribed over tele-health services. Here is the text of the deleted passage:
“No drug may be prescribed through telehealth services for the purpose of causing an abortion.”
ICL Founder and Chairman, David Ripley, appeared in person before the House State Affairs Committee to testify in support for this bill. Also testifying at the committee hearing was a representative of Planned Parenthood.
For an organization claiming to be the preeminent champion of the unborn in Idaho to be standing shoulder to shoulder with the primary perpetrators of the abortion holocaust is utterly astounding.
The Statement of Purpose for the bill was simply to save the state “an unspecified amount of money in the form of legal defense costs” stemming from litigation. What price, life?
Rep. Heather Scott was on the House State Affairs committee during that session. On March 6th, 2017 immediately after the hearing, Rep. Scott attempted to notify her constituents and pro-life voters throughout the state of Idaho as to what had just taken place. It is also worth noting that RINO Rep. Tom Loertscher was the committee chair at the time.
Idaho Chooses Life found it necessary to retaliate against Rep. Scott by sending out the following mailing to Legislative District 1...
H0250, the Pro-Chemical-Abortion Bill Passed the House on 3/8/2017 with the following tally...
AYES – Amador, Anderson, Anderst, Armstrong, Bell, Blanksma, Boyle, Burtenshaw, Chaney, Cheatham, Clow, Collins, Crane, Dayley, DeMordaunt, Dixon, Gestrin, Gibbs, Giddings, Harris, Hartgen, Hixon, Horman, Kauffman, Kerby, Kingsley, Loertscher, Luker, Malek, Manwaring, McDonald, Mendive, Miller, Monks, Moon, Moyle, Packer, Palmer, Perry, Raybould, Redman, Stevenson, Syme, Thompson, Troy, Trujillo, VanOrden, Vander Woude, Wood, Youngblood, Zito, Mr. Speaker (Scott Bedke)
NAYS – Barbieri, Chew, Erpelding, Gannon, Hanks, Holtzclaw, Jordan, King, Kloc, McCrostie, Nate, Rubel, Scott, Shepherd, Smith, Toone, Wintrow, Zollinger
Those Republicans who voted NAY are noted in bold. “Thank you” to those who stood for the unborn on that day.
If Idahoans are ever going to win back the Idaho Legislature for conservatism, they must correctly identify their enemies. Not all enemies have horns and tails. Some come in the appearance of protecting angels, claiming to be doing the Lord’s work.
We at the Platform Adherence Committee believe that it is imperative that Conservatives know how their political donation money is spent. The Pro-Life lobby should endure no less scrutiny than any other organization asking for your money. Idaho Chooses Life is proving itself to be nothing more than a money-laundering organization for RINOs and Establishment politicians.
Once again, ICL has acted on behalf of liberal RINOs in their attacks on Rep. Heather Scott. Their attacks on other conservatives, such as Rep. Chad Christensen are well documented elsewhere on our site.
What would you call it when you give your hard earned money to a political action committee, only to have them use it in support of a bill you would have opposed?
How do you feel about a PAC or lobbyist that takes your money to fight for a particular cause, but gives it to politicians who oppose your pro-freedom beliefs in other areas?
The only way you can be sure that your hard earned dollars are being spent in a way that is consistent with your views is to follow the money.
The Platform Adherence Committee’s concerns are that single-issue PACs and lobbyists often give donor money to politicians whose beliefs are contrary to their donors’ beliefs in areas other than the single issue they claim to represent. The donors are then unwittingly contributing to the destruction of their own liberty.
The Platform Adherence Committee is not a single issue PAC or lobby. We are here to make sure that politicians and Republican Party officials uphold the Republican Party Platform and their oath of office. We do this by exposing their votes that go against the Platform or the founding documents of our great nation and by exposing their income stream.
If you believe in what we are doing, we urge you to join the Platform Adherence Committee immediately. Please share our information and, should your conscience dictate, consider donating.
